Forbes has designated her as an icon that has had a great impact on young people while naming her on list of Asia's 30 Under 30.

Anushka Sharma, one of the Indian film industry's highest-paid actresses. The 29-year old started out in 2007, making her acting debut in 2008, in the hugely successful 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,' which won her a 'Filmfare Award for Best Actress'. Going on to act in a further 19 films, Sharma also has social causes, "appearing in a 'Right to Education' advert released by the Indian government," said the magazine.

Anushka Sharma (born May 1, 1988 in Ayodhya) started her film career in 2008 in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She then shot for two other Yash Raj Films productions - Badmaash Company (2010), directed by Parmeet Sethi with Shahid Kapoor and Baaja Baaraat Band (2010) directed by Maneesh Sharma. Her other films are Patiala House (2011) alongside Akshay Kumar, Ladies VS Ricky Bahl (2011) alongside Ranveer Singh, Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) with Shah Rukh Khan, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013), PK (2014), NH10 (2015), Bombay Velvet (2015), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), Sultan (2016), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), Phillauri (2017), and Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017).
In 2014, Anushka Sharma founded her own production company, Clean Slate Films, in association with her brother. Their first film was NH10 (2015).
